Clare Island

Clare Island is the largest of the 365 islands in Clew Bay and stands guard at the entrance to Clew Bay off Ireland's western Atlantic coast. It was home to famous Pirate Queen Grace O' Malley (Granuaile).

Clare Island Lighthouse is perched high on the cliffs and is unique because of it's two towers. One of which I stayed in for a weekend and I would be of the opinion that it has a few (friendly) ghosts! It was a wonderful place to escape the realities of the real world.
